Our area (Asheville, NC) was hit by hurricane Helene in September, 2024. It devastated our area and greatly affected small business owners in particular. 

Just two weeks after the storm, I lost my full time job. I decided that it was time to turn a pipe dream (starting a blind date with a book biz) into a reality - but in a way that would support my local community. I began connecting with local small businesses and asking if I could include their products in my book boxes - the response was beautiful! 

I purchase all artisan creations at full price from local businesses to ensure that it acts as a proper sale for them. I also promote local businesses that I procure items from in order to further support them. 

Yes! All books are brand new or gently used. Some books may have minor wear. They are cleaned and disinfected as well. The goal is to provide you with a gift ready for giving.  I try to include any potential issues with the condition in the listings. 

As you've seen in our shop, we create gorgeous, one of a kind book boxes! These are added to our website and updated in real time. 

In January of 2025, in addition to our shop's inventory, we also offer a monthly subscription! We are so excited, and we know that you are too! 

Our monthly subscriptions will include exclusive local items that aren't featured anywhere else on our website. In some cases, we will even have signed copies of books! 

Subscriptions are charged via recurring monthly payment - charged on the 10th of each month. 

As an example, book boxes that are paid for in December, will ship during the first week of January. Payment reoccurs on the 10th of January and those boxes will ship the first week of February and so on and so forth. 

Subscribe by the 15th to receive this month's book box.  After the 15th it will default to the following month

You can cancel your subscription or change your payment method at any time by logging into your customer portal. Current month will be nonrefundable, but you will not be charged for any future months. 

We're always looking for new & unique items to add to our boxes! Reach out via e-mail and tell us what you offer.  

We love working with authors - with preference given to those within Western North Carolina. Please e-mail us and tell us more about your book including synopsis and pricing. Bonus points if you're willing to sign copies for our customers! 

Easy Peasy! We're happy to help. Visit the SHOP page and choose "Surprise me". Choose "specific book" from the drop down menu. Then, in the text box, provide any additional information that you would like for us to know such as color scheme, the book name & author, the occasion...etc. If you want to request specific filler items (Asheville artisan items...etc.) please write it here - additional fees may apply if you make requests for specific items. Otherwise, we will take the information that you provide and use it to inspire the perfect box! 

Allergies can be tricky!

Consider a SURPRISE ME box if you have allergy concerns, even then, we cannot guarantee that your book wasn't exposed to potential allergens. If you are allergic to food, fragrance, or materials and there's a box containing such that you are interested in, we strongly encourage you to visit the "locally owned" page or e-mail us to look into the specific ingredient list. By purchasing a book box, you agree to release and hold harmless Read Me Unconditionally, as well as the small businesses that we source from, from any legal recourse due to known or unknown allergens.
