Say "hello" to our unique blind date with a book experience, where each package holds the fun of a literary surprise, fun bookish goodies, and one or more locally made treasures.

WHY WE EXIST:

When Hurricane Helene swept through our beautiful Western North Carolina mountains, we experienced loss, devastation, and uncertainty in our area. In the weeks that followed, my family found solace in our home library. Books brought togetherness, entertainment, and a sense of normalcy.

As we began to pick up the pieces, and things were beginning to feel like normal, we were hit with another blow when I lost my job due to company cutbacks.

I was left with a personal need (income) and I saw a community in need (amazing Asheville/WNC area artists and small businesses who were greatly affected), and frankly, I needed a creative outlet. More than anything, I wanted to help!

I decided to jump in feet first and turn an idea that I've had for a long time, into a business....and in doing so, Read Me Unconditionally was born. The concept embraces fun, creativity, and supports an ever-growing list of small businesses & artisans in WNC!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU SHOP: 

• All books are rated 3.5 or higher on Good Reads and Amazon
• All Books are gently loved or brand new. Books are as close to "new" condition as possible. However, some may have small markings, yellowing of pages, or the creases that come with being loved once before. As with our own bodies, these marks or creases are simply part of the book's character and should be appreciated as such *I do my best to note any esthetic concerns on the tag
•  Books are chosen based on current reviews, awards, best seller lists, and personal recommendations. I intentionally stay away from the current "it" book that everyone is buying - although you can request a specific book in a Surprise Me box if you would like.
• There is always the risk that you'll receive a book that you already own - try to utilize the clues provided to determine if it might be something you've read before you purchase. The unknown is part of the fun! That said, if you REALLY want to know if you're looking at a specific book, I'm happy to play along. Guess what the book is and I can tell you if I've wrapped it or not.  *Due to the nature of our product, there are no returns or exchanges (ALL SALES ARE FINAL). You're encouraged to regift! Please feel free to reach out and discuss any questions or concerns and we'll do work together with you to ensure a happy experience. 
• Locally made products are hand-picked and purchased specifically to be added to our book boxes
• Every purchase will include at least one or more hand crafted products from a locally owned business... you'll find their name on the product itself or you'll find a business cards in the wrapping of the book. Show them some love by giving them a like, follow, or review. 
• Visit our "Locally Owned" page to see local companies that we've sourced goods from for our boxes...show them love by following them on social media. If possible,  post a picture online and tag Read Me Unconditionally as well as the featured local artisan (it makes us do happy dance)
• Your purchase helps bring attention and support to WNC businesses
• WRITE A REVIEW! The best thing you (and/or your gift recipient) can do is write us a review on Facebook and Google - this helps us get seen!
